Book early for island breaks
2 Dec 2006Holidays on Skokholm and Skomer
Skokholm Island is once again open for three and four night breaks during 2007 from April to September, 2007. The idyllic reserve off the coast of Pembrokeshire is owned and run by the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, which also manages neighbouring Skomer for the Countryside Council for Wales.
While some dates are now fully-booked, there are still plenty of vacancies. There are also two courses on lichen running in September 2007 (5th to 8th and 8th to 11th) Information on the island and the courses can be found on the WTSWW website www.welshwildlife.org – just go the page on Skokholm. The cost of a three-night break is £175 and four nights is £210. The price includes full board.
You'll be pleased to know that neighbouring Skomer Island is once again open for overnight self-catering accommodation from April to October 2007. The cost is £30 per person per night, based on two people sharing a room. Children under 16 can stay for £15, but there is a minimum room charge of £60. Twin and family rooms available. Don’t forget that we take voluntary assistant wardens on Skomer Island on a weekly basis, Saturday to Saturday. Most of May, June and July are now fully booked.
