Campaigns and publications

Many conservation organisations have specialist interests and concerns, but Wildlife Trusts Wales is the only movement totally committed to protecting and encouraging ALL wildlife and the environment as a whole.

Wildlife Trusts Wales is becoming an increasingly influential force in the political arena in Wales, at local and coed-y-bwl daffs x 3 Resizednational level. All six Trusts speak with one voice on major Wales-wide issues, working together to influence government policy and decision-making. We also work individually, or with neighbouring Trusts, on more local issues, lobbying councils and other powerful bodies in the public and private sector on issues which could have an impact on the natural environment.

The Trusts work in partnership with one another, as well as with other conservation organisations, governmental bodies, business and commerce, and local communities. All Wildlife Trusts campaign for the protection of wildlife and invest in the future by helping people of all ages to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of wildlife. Lifelong learning is of great importance to us and a key part of what we do.

Over the years the Wildlife Trusts in Wales have grown considerably in strength and influence. Our views are listened to by politicians in local and national government, major players in the public and private sector, farmers and landowners.

Each Trust relies heavily on grants, donations, and legacies to fund vital conservation work. However, the best way of making a contribution is by becoming a member. Everyone can do it – individuals, families, and corporate organisations – and everyone can help make a big difference to nature on their own doorstep.

Conservation plan

So what do the Welsh Wildlife Trusts stand for and believe in? We have just published our first conservation plan, which sets out our plans and priorities for the future.
